Northern Lights

posted Mar 07, 2016 17:21:15 by Sarah W
A friend posted on Facebook that the northern lights should be visible to the northern US states due to an ongoing geomagnetic storm. New England had a light show this weekend, and from what I understand, the lights may be going further south so that people in Pennsylvania and New Jersey will see them as well. I have seen the northern light twice in my life. It is an amazing display of nature.

I haven't had the opportunity to see them yet, but judging from the pictures it has to be an awesome thing to see for yourself. Nature never ceases to amaze does it?

You can read more about how these storms effect other aspects of our planet here: http://hamchatforum.yuku.com/forums/1136983/Propagation/Propagation#.Vt63vNDuqM8
Let this monkey go. Let the senses go. Let desires go. Let conflicts go. Let ideas go. Let the fiction of life and death go. Just remain in the center, watching. And then forget that you are there.

This is on my bucket list. I think the northern lights are the most amazing phenomenon ever and I can't wait to be in a position to see them one day. I'm sure pictures just don't do them justice. For those of you that have seen them you are very lucky indeed.

I wonder how long that storm is going to last. There's something peaceful about the notion that a storm like that could be strong enough to knock out the power grid in certain parts of the world, while putting on a light show like the northern lights.
