Biggest Pet Peeve

posted Mar 16, 2016 18:40:33 by Sarah W
Something that absolutely drives me crazy is when people drive in the rain without their headlights on. It actually infuriates me because many vehicles are difficult to see when it is raining, and it creates an unsafe driving condition. What is your biggest pet peeve?

After about 65 years of experience driving I have concluded that the best thing to do is turn your own lights off and on a time or two. Often the other driver will respond when he becomes aware his lights are not on. I agree it is safer if other drivers keep their lights on in rain and snow conditions.

The thing that makes me mad the most is when people cut in lines. I just can't hold myself when they do that and I can't help but react.

When people are driving towards my car at night with their brights on. It's kind of blinding. I'll turn mine on and off a few times, and if they don't take the hint I'll turn my brights on when I get about 5 feet in front of them.

It really irritates me.

One of my biggest pet peeves is men who do not stand when a woman enters the room. I know that might date me a bit, but it amazes me how many men these days will remain seated when a woman enters the room. Worse yet, the number of men who remain sitting and have no issues forcing a woman to stand if there are no seats. I will also make my children offer their seat to another adult if one isn't available. I'm old fashioned, but I think it is just the right way to behave.

AnthonyMason, I agree with you! I can't hold myself when someone cuts the line. That happens to me a lot, strangely. I also like to be punctual and follow the order. It really amazes me when I visited Japan with their well-organized, punctual system. I was only few hours back and already got so angry because people at airport here could not even stay in line properly.

I don't know if it is that I don't have any pet peeves or if I just can't think of any. Nothing really bugs me anymore. I like the old saying we had as kids, "I am rubber and you are glue." I guess I would say I am bothered by people that won't admit they have even a touch of naughtiness or a rebel side.
