Traveling around the world

posted Apr 05, 2016 14:29:21 by RedSeol
One of my most important dreams is to visit as many countries as possible. From international visits I have done so far, I really enjoyed the trips as they expanded my knowledge. I got to learn new culture, live in new environment, and meet new people. It is also related to my hobby of learning foreign languages, although I'm not exactly fluent at many languages yet.

How much do you enjoy visiting other countries?

So far I've never been out of the country so anywhere would be a new experience for me. I really would like to visit other countries but not as many as possible. I have always wanted to go to Ireland and Scotland and spend the night in a castle. It's on my bucket list.

I would love to travel more, I just haven't done it. When we didn't have kids, we had no money. Then, when we had money the kids were small and the thought of doing any major trips was very daunting. Now, as the kids have gotten old enough, we suffered an economic downturn and we are back to no money. I'm not sure I am meant to travel, but I would love to! Maybe someday!

wild_sarah82, I understand how it feels like especially now that I'm working. My friends and I often looked for international student exchange or internship opportunities when we were still on university. Although we do have assignments to complete during the stay, usually we can spare enough time to go sightseeing when the schedule is lenient. Local friends and teachers can guide us around so we only need to worry about the personal expenses during the trips.

I love this. It's interesting that we are not able to understand our own culture until we have a view from outside of it. Like the forest. You don't know it is a forest if you have been in it your whole life and when you walk out you see where you really were.

I have been traveling and living in different countries for the past 13 years and I couldn't be happier. Traveling has opened my mind and has allowed me to learn so many things about myself that I could have never been able to know if I had stayed in my home country.

I really enjoy travelling to other countries and cultures and if I had the resources I would be doing it all the time; In fact, travelling to many countries and experiencing new things are some of my goals in life.

I had the opportunity to live in Sweden and Germany when I was in my early 20s and it was definitely an interesting experience. Those weren't countries I would have chosen if given a choice, but I'm glad I did it. Since then, I have kept my travels to various regions of the U.S. and several islands in the Caribbean, but I will probably visit some other countries/continents in the future.

I visited Italy last summer and it was quite an experience. I had never been out of the USA before then. Italy is such a cultural treasure chest of ancient, medieval and renaissance beauty that is beyond compare. I would love to revisit this beautiful country soon, this time going to the southern regions.
