Has anyone here ever taken a cruise? If yes, what cruise line did you use and what did you like/dislike about it? What was your favorite part?

This one is on my bucket list. I have always wanted to take a cruise but it's just one of those things I never got around to doing.....yet. One day. I understand they are lots of fun and full of all kinds of activities.
Cruises don't appeal to me at all. I don't like the idea of seeing a bunch of places in a short period of time and I wouldn't want to be told when I can get off and on the ship. The only cruise I have ever looked into, and will probably take within the next few years, is a cruise to Antarctica, but that's only because it's really the only way for me to see that continent.
I have cruised with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian cruise lines going to various destinations. They all have their good points and bad points. Depending on what you enjoy, each cruise line will offer a huge range of things to do.

I have taken several Caribbean cruises with my wife, one on our honeymoon. The first was with an Italian line some thirty-three years ago, the line now being defunct. It was a smaller ship, like the "Loveboat", and had a traditional approach to passenger service, that being, sitting with the same people for all meals, etc. For the past several years we have taken two more cruises, both with Norwegian. The ships were enormous, both having about fifteen decks! We had "balcony cabins" for both voyages, which were great! There is nothing quite like sailing on the wide open sea with the full moon sparkling down on the water. If we take another cruise I hope we decide to go to Alaska or the Mediterranean.
