Will we need radios to communicate as time goes by?

posted May 05, 2016 23:24:04 by w8eeo
I have spent a lot of time (nearly 60 years) using communication devices (radios) and there has not been a moment that new products and practices failed to come to light. When I started vacuum tubes were the state of the art. I collected tubes and over the years saved thousands of all types. Now they are considered antique and every thing is solid state. Humans will never stop inventing and trying new devices.
I am going to say some very weird things now as well as ask a question. Will we need radios to contact anyone in the universe sometime in the future?
It is a fact that we already have the ability to send signals anywhere in space but we cannot communicate with others who are light years away now.
However, it is a proven fact that others beings are able to carry on instant (timely) communications with their home ports from our planet.
I guess the questions might be what is the nature of the communication devices they use to communicate and when will we discover the secrets of the new methods?

That is an interesting question, w8eeo. I have never really thought about it. I am interested to hear what you mean by "it is a proven fact that others beings are able to carry on instant (timely) communications with their home ports from our planet" and I am very interested in being directed towards any information you have on the subject. I did not see any links on the hamchatforum in the link you posted, but would love to learn more.
