My family just moved to the country from the city. We now have 3 acres as opposed to 3 feet of property - haha! Anyways, what are some things for our family to do outside to get the full enjoyment out of having the extra land?

Congratulations on your move to the country! What you might like to try is to install an in ground pool for your enjoyment. Or, if that's not your thing, or the expense is too much, try an above ground one or dig some horseshoe pits. Also, if you like different types of animals, and the vicinity is zoned for such, why not try to raise some chickens or rabbits? I'm sure that there are other tons of hobbies that would utilize your extra land to a fun time advantage.
You are so lucky to be out of the city. I wish that this could happen for my family; we've been trying to get out for awhile now. The best thing about being out in the country is that there seems like there are fewer rules on the things that you can and can't do. For instance, in the city, we aren't allowed to have any type of fire, but in the country, you could have a bonfire and no one would care.
I love living in the country! We have a deck area and I made it a true backyard oasis with flower baskets and a new patio set. We practically live out on the deck in the summer. One of the best things I ever bought was a screened porch that attaches to the house. We put it up in spring and take it down in fall. It gives us an outside room that we live in.
